Meta Conversions API (CAPI)

Forward Rovenue subscription and revenue events to Meta's server-side Conversions API for reliable attribution without client-side pixels.

Meta Conversions API (CAPI)

The Meta CAPI integration forwards Rovenue subscription and revenue events directly to Meta's server-side Conversions API, enabling reliable attribution for mobile campaigns without relying solely on client-side pixels.

1. Get your credentials from Meta

  1. Open Meta Events Manager.
  2. Select your Data Source (Pixel).
  3. Go to Settings → API Access.
  4. Copy:
    • Access Token — a long-lived system user token (recommended) or a page access token.
    • Pixel ID — the numeric identifier shown at the top of the Data Source settings page (e.g. 123456789012345).

Store these values securely. The access token grants write access to your Pixel.

2. Add the integration in Rovenue

  1. In the Rovenue dashboard, navigate to Apps (left sidebar).
  2. Find Meta CAPI in the integrations grid and click it.
  3. The side drawer opens. Fill in the Credentials step:
    • Pixel ID — paste the Pixel ID from step 1.
    • Access Token — paste the access token from step 1.
  4. Click Validate — Rovenue calls the Meta CAPI test endpoint to verify the credentials are accepted.
  5. Proceed through the remaining drawer steps (event mapping, test event code, enable).
  6. Click Save to activate the integration.

When your SDK passes an identityContext with an event, the following fields are forwarded to Meta CAPI:

FieldForwarded asHashing
emailuser_data.emSHA-256 (lowercased + trimmed before hashing)
phoneuser_data.phSHA-256 (digits only before hashing)
externalIduser_data.external_idSHA-256 (trimmed before hashing)
ipuser_data.client_ip_addressForwarded verbatim — not hashed
userAgentuser_data.client_user_agentForwarded verbatim — not hashed
fbp / fbcuser_data.fbp / user_data.fbcForwarded verbatim — not hashed
ttclid / ttpNot sent to Meta CAPIN/A (TikTok-specific fields)

Consent is your responsibility.

Rovenue acts as a data processor. Your application is the data controller. You must obtain the end-user's informed consent before passing any PII in identityContext. GDPR, CCPA, KVKK, and similar regulations place the consent obligation on the controller (you), not the processor (Rovenue).

Additional guarantees:

  • Rovenue never persists identityContext fields at rest. PII is hashed in-process; raw values are not written to any database.
  • response_body from Meta CAPI is stored but truncated to 4096 bytes.
  • The wire format uses camelCase JSON; each envelope carries a numeric version field (currently 1) and a stable eventId for downstream dedupe.

4. Verify events are arriving

  1. Go back to Meta Events Manager.
  2. Select your Data Source and open the Test Events tab.
  3. In the Rovenue drawer's Test step, you set a test_event_code (e.g. TEST12345). Trigger a real event from your app or use the Rovenue Send Test Event button.
  4. Within a few seconds, the Test Events tab should show the event with your test event code, confirming the full pipeline is working.

If events are not appearing:

  • Verify the Pixel ID and Access Token are correct (use Validate in the drawer).
  • Check Apps → Meta CAPI → Delivery Log in Rovenue for HTTP status codes and error messages.
  • Ensure enabledEvents in the connection includes the event type you are sending.
