Display currency

Show the dashboard's revenue, MRR and LTV in a currency other than USD, and what stays in USD.

Rovenue stores every amount in USD. The display currency is the currency the dashboard shows money in. Set it per project under Settings › General › Date and region › Display currency:

Revenue, MRR and LTV are shown in this currency, each transaction converted at its own day's rate.

The choices are USD (the default), EUR, GBP, TRY, JPY, CAD, AUD, CHF, BRL, MXN, INR, KRW and CNY. The same section sets Start week on, the day each reporting week starts.

What it converts

Each transaction is converted at the exchange rate of the day it happened, not at today's rate, so a past month's revenue does not move when rates do. Changing the currency changes only how amounts are shown: nothing stored is rewritten, and switching back shows the same figures as before.

The dashboard's money figures follow it: the overview and charts, the Customers list and customer page (LTV, MRR, purchase prices), experiment revenue, cohorts, leaderboards and Refund Shield. So does the email digest.

A chart of MRR movement can show an FX difference note: when the display currency's rate moved between the window's start and end, the bars and the levels differ by that amount.

What is not converted

  • The data Rovenue stores, which is USD.
  • The server-side API and outbound webhooks: their amounts are never converted to the display currency.
  • The CSV export's existing columns. The export appends two more columns, display_currency and display_value: the same figure in the display currency, converted per row and day. For a USD project and for rows that are not money, display_value equals value.

If you read the dashboard's own HTTP API, fields whose names end in Usd hold the display currency when it is not USD. The names were kept so older dashboards keep working. The response's currency field says which currency the amounts are in.
